  Evelyn M. Mugrage, 84, of Flora, IL died at 12:30 AM Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Heritage Woods in Flora. She was born February 3, 1925 in Wayne County, IL to Verl B. & Merl (Mayo) Holmes. She married Richard A. Wise on September 27, 1945 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1958. She later married J.P. Mugrage who also preceded her in death. She was a civil service worker, a secretary at Clay County Hospital in Flora, and was a member of the Flora First Church of God. Evelyn enjoyed being with her family, playing cards with friends, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and was always an upbeat person who enjoyed life. She is survived by 2 daughters: Vickie Smith of Abilene, TX and Verla Reed & husband Jerry of Brownstown; 2 step-sons: Major Mugrage & wife Jana of Rinard, Scott Mugrage & wife Julia of Scottsbluff, NE; 1 sister: Lillian Hout & husband Gene of Henderson, KY; sister-in-law: Betty Holmes of Lake Havasu, AZ; and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 brothers (Harold & David Holmes), son-in-law (Jerry Smith). Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday (December 20, 2009) at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. There is no visitation. Memorials may be given to Flora First Church of God. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
