    • Samuel F. Beck, 85, of Olney, passed away on February 17, 2017 at his residence in Olney.

      Sam was born January 16, 1932 in Richland Co., IL to parents Fred and Erma (Scherer) Beck. He married Wilma (Gerber) Beck on November 22, 1951 Olney, IL.

      Sam served in the National Guard and Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Korea as well as Japan. Sam worked as a truck driver for several companies including Fehrenbachers Cartage, Rogers Cartage, Priority Transportation, and Diversified Trucking. In later years he was the owner and operator of amusement and vending machine businesses. He was owner of Recycle-It. Sam was a member of the Olney VFW, American Legion, and the Trinity Lutheran Church.

      Survived by Wife of 65 years, Wilma Jean Beck of Olney; daughter, Connie (Beck) Doan and husband Lonnie; son-in-law, Allen Ederer; grandsons, Brian Ederer and wife Shawna; Brad Ederer and wife Becky; and Brandon Doan; great-grandchildren, Tera Ederer and Alex Ederer, and step-great-grandson, Kyle Schultz.

      Preceded in death by parents and daughter, Carol Sue (Beck) Ederer.

      Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Goss Cemetery
